From My Front Porch
From my front porch a day beginning
The joyous sound of the early birds singing
Through the early morning air their joyous songs are ringing
Upon my heart each note is clinging
From my front porch I hear laughter ring out
As my grandchildren greet each new day with a shout
Rocking chairs softly rocking on my front porch here
The joy of family is almost more than I can bear
From my front porch at end of the day
I’ve been blessed from above I can surely say
For my Lord has given me family to love
And a quiet place to hear from my father above
From my front porch I find His sweet peace
As from this world’s trials all worry does cease
So I just rocking and reading my dear Saviors word
As from my front porch His wondrous glory is heard
